In search of sun, swimming and good food, Caroline Gammell took a half-term break to Rhodes. The Greek island proved a hit with her young family as they undertook their first holiday by plane.

Limassol, on the south coast of Cyprus, is a far cry from the mass-market, sunbeds-lined-up-nose-to-tail resorts found on the east coast. It has recently attracted the likes of Elton John and Rod Stewart.
