Metro will increase service on most of its lines during the busiest times to meet increasing passenger demand.

The transit agency also announced it is planning a two-week Red Line shutdown of some of its busiest downtown stations.

Metrorail’s conversion to self-piloting trains this fall on the Red Line will instead begin in a phased approach before a complete shift from manual operations to automation.
