Ray Curry, in the midst of a runoff election to remain president, says if he’s reelected he can work with new members of the UAW board who have been critical of his leadership.

The plant is slated to open in 2026 as a wholly owned Ford subsidiary using technology from partner CATL, based in China. The UAW is expected to organize the plant’s 2,500 workers through a card check process.

Workers in Louisville were told late last week the plant would be idled Feb. 13-19, according to a memo obtained by Automotive News.
