The trial of Nathaniel Veltman, which has focused on two very difference versions of the accused terrorist’s own words, is coming to a close.

Veltman presented with a variety of mental illnesses, including OCD and depression, and showed elements of Autism Spectrum Disorder, forensic psychiatrist Dr. Julian Gojer testified Thursday.

In the first full day of Crown cross-examination, the prosecution attempted to poke holes in the alleged London killer’s defence

The accused white-nationalist terrorist testified Monday that he drove to Toronto because the city had “high Muslim population.”

“I felt this unspeakable rage rising within myself,” said the accused, who has pleaded not guilty to murder inspired by white nationalist terrorism.

In court on Thursday, Veltman described being raised by a ‘religious fanatic’ mother who verbally abused him. Veltman previously told police he deliberately sought to ‘kill Muslims’ in an alleged act of white-nationalist terrorism.

“Below are my political views, for whoever is interested,” the document begins.

The first two weeks of trial were dominated by Veltman’s detailed admissions to a London, Ont., detective; a defence strategy is not yet clear.

Though Veltman spoke uninterrupted at a length of 15 transcribed pages, a London, Ont. police detective told court Wednesday he had no concerns.
